SUMMARY:Promising Practices Panel: Aligning Systems
DESCRIPTION:Promising Practices Panel: Aligning Systems \nMoving the needle on health equity is not a one-person job. It calls for ongoing\, orchestrated coordination across organizations\, sectors\, jurisdictions\, and communities. This interactive session will allow participants to hear how the panelists have brought systems together for health equity in three very different ways\, and to get advice on their own alignment opportunities. \nWe will hear from: \n\nSarah Schanck of One Safe Place Macon Family Justice Center\, a central location where victims of domestic violence\, sexual assault\, child abuse\, elder and dependent adult abuse\, and human trafficking abuse can access life-saving comprehensive services and support from a variety of co-located non-profit organizations\, criminal justice agencies\, and other service providers in a single space;\nBarry Keppard from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council\, who is leading work for the implementation of the MetroFuture Plan through a combination of public health\, land use\, environmental\, and transportation planning projects; and\nRichard Sheward\, Director of System Implementation Strategies for Children’s HealthWatch\, where he leads the Children’s Health Watch Social Vital Signs™ Communities of Practice\, and convenes local and national organizations\, researchers\, and policymakers to inform and influence policy decisions that improve children’s health.\n\nTo register\, click here. \n*Please note that you do not have to already be a member of the Community of Practice to attend the Promising Practices Panels. Please feel free to share information about this opportunity to learn with each other with others.
